What an honour and privilege to receive the Vice-Chancellor of the Sol Plaatje University, Professor Andrew Crouch at the school yesterday. The Vice-Chancellor was launching the Sol Plaatje University Talent Pipe Line Programme which is a pre-university enrichment programme aimed at increasing the academic, social and psycho-social preparation of learners for them to enter and succeed in higher education. The University will identify the top-performing learners in Grade 10,11 and 12 from a broad range of schools in the Northern Cape Province who will be accommodated at the University during holidays.

A total of 30 boys attended the workshop where Professor Crouch had a heart to heart talk with them. He was accompanied by his Senior Communications and Marketing Officer, Ms Kashini Maistry and Mrs Puleng Moitsemai, the Programme Coordinator. In his appreciation remarks, the headmaster Mr Taba hailed the Vice-Chancellor for bringing the welcome outreach programme to the learners. He acknowledged the privilege of being close to an institution of higher learning and the potential this presents in terms of strategic partnerships. He wishes to see the relationship between the school and the university being strengthened in the relevant spheres such as sport, culture and academics.
